What to do at the scene

The first hour shapes the whole claim. A few small steps now save you days later.

If your car was already towed

Police often send a wrecked car straight to a storage yard. You can still have it brought to us, and moving fast keeps the bill down.

• Storage yards charge a fee for every day the car sits there
• Call us with the yard's name and we'll arrange the second tow
• The yard may need you to sign a release before the car can leave
• Insurers usually cover a fair tow and storage bill on a claim
• The sooner it moves, the smaller that bill is when the adjuster sees it

Who pays for the tow

Most drivers don't pay for this out of pocket. The tow is normally part of the claim, and we hand the paperwork to the adjuster with our estimate.

• Collision coverage usually pays to move the car to a repair shop
• Many policies add roadside coverage that pays for a tow as well
• If the other driver caused the crash, their insurer may cover it
• We give your adjuster the tow and storage receipts with the estimate
• Arizona law lets you pick the shop, and the insurer can't force a different one

Do you offer towing?
Not as a service on its own. We don't have a tow truck. We call a local operator and arrange the tow for you, for cars coming to us for an estimate or a repair.

Will you arrange a tow if I'm not repairing the car with you?
No. We only set up tows for cars headed to our shop. For any other tow, call a towing company directly.

Who pays for the tow?
Usually your insurer. Collision coverage normally pays to move the car to a repair shop, and roadside coverage can pay for it too. If you're paying yourself, ask the operator for the price before the truck rolls.

My car is at an impound or storage yard. Can you get it?
Yes. Give us the yard's name and the claim number and we'll arrange the tow to our shop. Do it quickly, because the yard charges for every day the car sits there.

Can I ride along in the tow truck?
That depends on the driver and the truck. Many will take one passenger. If there's no room, you can meet the car at the shop or come by the next morning.

How fast can a truck reach me?
It depends on the operator, the time of day and where you are. Call us and we'll tell you what the operator says before you agree to anything.

Do you arrange tows from Phoenix or Mesa?
Yes. We arrange tows from across the Valley, including Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Paradise Valley and Fountain Hills. A longer tow costs more, so check what your policy covers.

Can I get an estimate before the car is towed?
Yes. Send photos of the damage through our online estimate page and we'll come back with a number. It's a good way to know where you stand while the car is still sitting where it stopped.
